Jane Ayrton from KR Group, talks about her journey as an Enterprise Adviser

As a member of the Royal Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), I volunteered to take up the role of Enterprise Adviser. In addition to wanting to have a positive impact on social mobility for young people in the Opportunity Area of Blackpool, I felt that the role provided, an exciting strategic opportunity to bring together all of my skills and experience, to enable Montgomery High School in Blackpool to create beneficial links with employers. This is helping to equip their pupils with the employability skills that will assist them in making informed careers choices.

As part of my role as an Enterprise Adviser I have helped the school in brokering new links to the world of work for their pupils, which is already proving beneficial in helping to develop their employability skills.

In my new job role as Head of Learning and Development at the Financial Services group, KR Group in Preston, I have continued to provide support on building the confidence, resilience and positive thinking of the school’s pupils, helping in their career progression, all with the full support of my employer.
