Inspira welcomes Danny Barry to the Lancashire Enterprise Co-ordinator team

A passion for providing young people with the opportunity to develop as individuals is the driving force behind Inspira’s new Enterprise Co-ordinator in Lancashire, Danny Barry.

Danny‘s role is to support schools and employers alike to build capacity while ensuring there is a strong future workforce across the County. The core focus is to build a network of volunteer Enterprise Advisers within schools and colleges to improve the number of interactions young people have with employers.

Managed by Inspira, and funded through the Lancashire Skills Hub and the Careers and Enterprise Company, the enterprise co-ordinators and adviser network are also tasked with helping to embed the Gatsby Career Benchmarks into the career education, information advice and guidance programmes of schools and colleges.

For Danny, joining Inspira and being part of the wider careers’ education machine was an easy decision.

I joined Inspira as I am passionate about providing young people with the opportunity to develop as individuals whichever career pathway they choose,” said Danny. “I have only been in post for four months so I’m still in the process of a handover, but generally I am working with most of the schools across Blackburn with Darwen and supporting some schools in West Lancashire.

“My aim is to build on the success of the existing network and to get my schools to share best practice rather than work solely independently.”

The Gatsby Career Benchmarks form part of the Government’s Education strategy which was launched last November 2017.
