EXPANSION OF CAREERS HUB IN LANCASHIRE TO HELP TRANSFORM CAREERS EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SKILLS FOR COVID-19 RECOVERY

I am delighted to be writing to you to announce that we have been successful in our application to Department of Education to expand our award-winning Careers Hub to all secondary schools, colleges, 11-18 SEND schools, PRUs and alternative providers across Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool and Lancashire.  Lancashire was one of 20 areas nationally piloting the Careers Hub model in partnership with schools, colleges and employers in Burnley, Pendle and Blackpool for the past two academic years, and was recently announced as Careers Hub of the Year in November 2019.  The Careers Hub overlays the work of the Lancashire Enterprise Adviser Network, and the two run in tandem to raise the quality of careers provision.

The new careers hub will now support every single student, in every single school and college across Lancashire and we really wanted to share this fantastic news with you but to also to take the moment to thank you personally for your support and commitment.

The success of the current Careers Hub and expansion across Lancashire is testament to the strength of the partnership between our educational institutions and Enterprise Advisers, and given the very challenging environment it is probably never been as critical for all of us to focus even more on our future generation.

The expansion of the Careers Hub will also see a significant increase in the number of schools and colleges involved, so we will be looking for additional Enterprise Advisers who would like to be involved so please share amongst your own professional networks and encourage anyone who may be interested to contact us.

Finally, this is a real coup for Lancashire and is truly down to the fantastic support you have provided to your own institution over the recent years, so on behalf of Lancashire’s young people, thank you so much.

If you would like to discuss further please speak to our Careers Hub Lead, Kay Vaughan either by email kay.vaughan@inspira.org.uk or by telephone on 07812 224458 or please feel free to contact me via email Michele.Lawty-Jones@lancashirelep.co.uk

Kind regards
